Lesson 2 How to stay physically active

It is important that we exercise regularly, and we combine types of exercises (e.g., aerobic, muscle-strengthening) as they are an important component of a healthy lifestyle.

It is advisable that individuals should perform ≥150 mins/week of moderate-intensity activity or ≥75 mins/week of vigorous-intensity physical activity.

  • Moderate intensity aerobic activity are things like cycling, swimming, and fast-paced walking, etc.
  • Muscle-strengthening activity Includes lifting weights, push-ups, sit-ups and squats, yoga, etc.

Even 5 minutes of physical activity per day has real health benefits!
