Lesson 3 Emotional and Social Support 

When older adults first start to develop some form of disability they are in increasing need of emotional support. In general, family provides emotional aid and companionship between family members, but the type of support that family caregivers give to the elders alternates the equilibrium in their relationship. More specifically, the vulnerable group demands high percentages of emotional aid that cannot return to the caregivers. Therefore, the caregiver must be equipped with high supplies of psychological support and should be prepared for tackling with emerging mental health issues of the recipient.
